These days

July was quite a month.

As most of you know, I have been working on starting my own business the past half year. In partnership with the true genius behind the operation, Clint Chang, Republic Studios (Shanghai) began 100% operation on the first of this past month. Prior to that, however, we had already delivered our first project to our first client.

Completely designed, animated, and even acted (those are his arms) by Republic’s co-founder and creative director, the video below was played on 10 screens adorning the walls of Bloc, the new club on the first floor of Volar. What a thrill it was to be at the grand opening, with that thing playing in a fantastic loop.

This past weekend I celebrated my 30th birthday at, where else, Bloc. It was a fitting night of utter and devastating drunkenness. What a way to close out July, and my twenties. And what a way to ring in what’s to come: surrounded by a bunch of great people saying “cool shit, cool shit.” No two words could be better.

Hallelujah, I’m back

So after finally finding the time to sit down and figure out what the hell was going on with my blog, I’m happy to see that the problem is 90% solved and yes, the world is right again! Apparently, so much un-upgraded time had passed since I first switched from Blogger over to Wordpress that when my crappy ISP moved my site to another server, my rickety Wordpress (pre 2.0, believe it or not) choked and all my posts started showing up in reverse order. And this is why all of you coming to my site the past month and a half were greeted with my posts from 2003 pasted all over the front page.

Obviously, much has happened since then.

The site isn’t fully back to normal (I’m on the latest version now, 2.6); for one thing, all my “categories” are missing. I did a Google search and apparently I will need to go into my SQL database and manually change some terms in the array. And if that made any sense to you, please come and do it for me, because I have absolutely no interest in going in and fucking around with any of this mumbo jumbo. I’m just happy that I’m back, struggling to add more inanity and vapidity to the lives of my lovely reader(s). And with that, it’s time for bed!
